The roof refurbishment project at All Saints Church of England Primary School focused on upgrading both the main roof and the canopy using single-ply materials. For the main roof, our structural engineer carefully considered the various pitches and elevations, necessitating site visits and discussions with both the client and M&J to ensure agreement on the requirements. The original felt material in the vertical sections surrounding the high-level windows was replaced with UPVC cladding, enhancing the building’s aesthetic appeal by providing a cohesive look with matching fascia, soffits, and cladding.
The single-ply canopy, the school requested a similar specification to previous glazed walkway adaptations. The project involved removing the full glass, installing a new plywood deck, and applying single-ply material with insulation to enhance thermal efficiency and address prior issues with thermal penetration. Internally, upgrades included new lighting with PIR sensors and a new suspended ceiling, further enhancing the functionality and aesthetics of the walkway.
