The project involved the refurbishment of the pitched roof areas. This included the removal and replacement of roof tiles, battens, and underlay, ensuring materials closely matched the existing roof. A new eaves vent and protection felt were installed, along with dry fixing systems to all verges and the mono ridge.
As part of the works, existing rooflights were removed and replaced with new white-painted pine units, maintaining the original sizes as closely as possible. New flashings and combination kits were installed to match the previous configurations.
During the refurbishment, an insulation upgrade was incorporated, increasing the depth from the originally quoted 100mm to 150mm where possible. Additionally, internal ceiling decorations were carried out in areas affected by the rooflight replacements.
The project was successfully delivered within the restricted timeframe of the school’s summer holidays. Careful planning and extended working hours were required to meet deadlines, working around the many school programs/clubs.
